ASP Handcuffs have greatly advanced the design and construction of wrists restraints worldwide. Extensive simulation analysis and computer modelling have been used to gain optimal frame geometry. The use of an interlocking unitized frame and a replaceable locking assembly, both forged from high strength stainless steel on high speed custom built progressive dies, gives maximal strength potential. Each set of restraints is then over-moulded in ordnance grade polymer with up to 75 tons of pressure.
With input from officers and law enforcement instructors from 75 nations, ASP handcuffs are designed with the needs of the field specialists in mind. This research and collaboration has highlighted the quest by officers on the street for a pair of handcuffs that are lighter than previous designs. The flat contact conical bow improves application means there is no need for complex and time consuming training sessions. Using keyhole and double locking slot on each side of each handcuff so you don’t need to worry about how you are putting the cuffs on, just getting them on will make for plenty of control and then you can deal with the double lock when the person involved is less agitated. ASP Chain Linked Handcuffs
The simplest and most effective design is the swivelling chain link handcuffs. By far the easiest to put the cuffs on when dealing with an assailant due to the highly accessible double sided lock on both sides. An indicator on the handcuffs alert you if they are not double locked. The rounded edges should make for less complaints of cuffs “cutting in” to the suspect.
